In 2015, we added a third statewide competition (State Indoor Games) so our athletes could participate in more sports at the state level. SOMO athletes may participate and compete in as many sports as they'd like at the local and regional level, but at the three state competitions they can only compete in one individual sport and one team sport. Athletes train for at least eight weeks before competition and qualify for state competitions by placing first or second at their local and/or regional competitions.
